How is this so clean? Not showroom shape, but pretty close.

i think its slightly funny that we all love and adore bone stock clean 4x4's but hate on everyone who goes and buys a JK throws on 33 and doesn’t hit the trail

Gimmie that 80s squareness.
There’s a sand colored 4-door for sale here that’s that clean. If it would’ve been for sale when I was buying my S10 id probably have it because first gen S/T is best gen. Most have just rusted away by now sadly.

This is a variety of vaguely hypocritical irony that is not uncommon on OPPO

I saw one that clean this summer as well, blew my mind.

But also you can trail a 4x4 without ruining it..

very debatable. I might make that argument for cars that are tracked but 4x4's take abuse like no other form of automobiles

Depends what you’re doing. Not everyone rock crawls, overland sort of stuff with a properly set-up rig won’t destroy it besides wearing consumables faster.

Taking a new car and tweaking it when it’s new is fine, because there will be more. It’s only when cars are long out of production that they go from tools to be used and disposed of, to something to be preserved. After all, a perfect original car, of any vintage and make, is a curiosity for nostalgia’s sake. A perfect original of a car people loved is cherished for the same reason.

My first car was identical to that, aside from being the darker brown/brown paint scheme and having considerably more rust holes. Great little truck.

One of my best friends from High School had this exact truck.

A guy on the next block over from me has a Blazer of this era in red and silver two tone in mint condition. Seriously. No rust. Old Sicilian guy who just takes care of everything. He had a 1972 LeMans 4 door sedan that he sold about ten years ago that had one bubble of rust. His house is spotless and has perfect 60s appliances too.

Texas truck - no road salt and stuff. We had an 86 S-15 pickup and it was a rust bucket.
